Yes, he did have a bad bump yesterday and the glass globe that he'd grown up in was broken in a fall. But Tigger himself is unhurt and beginning to enjoy life in the outside world.
Now, Tigger is not very tall. So we've had to look hard to find him a toy and somewhere to sleep.
There is a big collection of turtles in Tigger's house and this is the smallest of them all (apart from some earrings - and you may see those on another occasion). It seems to be a good size for Tigger. But that doesn't tell you just how small he is. Do you know the size of one penny?
That gives you some idea of just how tiny he is! And it means that he'd be quite lost in a "big bed", so we had to do a bit of hunting around for somewhere suitable.
This is perfect - and I've given it the number two! You can see that Tigger's toy turtle is waiting at the bottom of the bed for him and you'll notice that the pillow and cover have an attractive pattern (just like the napkins on the table!).
It is a perfect size. Tigger is tucked up at night and sleeps soundly and very comfortably.
During the day he has a little wander around.
His owner is a cleric in Saint Nicholas' Parish in Belfast, so there'll be a lot of church things around. Today he took a look at the new parish magazine.
The first page had some information from the Bishop. His name is Alan and once each year he calls all the clergy and representatives of the lay people to a Synod - a big meeting. This page tells the people some of the things that Bishop Alan said earlier this month.
Tigger's owner writes a letter in each magazine and signs it at the end with her name. It is a bit fuzzy but the handwritten bit says "Elizabeth".
We're going to have to find some very small pencils for Tigger so that he can do some writing too!
One of the big events coming up in church is a special service that will go out live on radio across the United Kingdom. The Messenger (that's the name of the magazine) has some of the prayers from that service so that people who can't get to church can follow the broadcast. There will be photographs nearer the time and I imagine people all round the world will be able to hear it on line too.
One of the windows in the church shows an injured man being helped by someone else - it is called the Good Samaritan window. That seemed like a suitable picture to go with the service of Wholeness and Healing.
If you turn your head sideways you can see the man who is helping (wearing a red coat) and the sick man who is on the right. There are really good photographs of the church windows (and the church) if you follow the link to the Paul Dawson pictures on the right side of the blog.
Sometimes there is space in The Messenger for a poem or a recipe. This month the poem is about God's Garden.
Tigger, and lots of people, like the verse that says we're "nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth).
After such a long and exciting day Tigger is going to have an early night - but he'll pop up from time to time with a story for Grandma Carolyn's granddaughters. Just now he says, "Night, night and God bless."
Jesus, friend of little children,
be a friend to me;
take my hand, and ever keep me
close to thee.

I've told you you should write a book - or two!
Laycee and I have read your story and looked at all of your pictures. She yelled each time she saw another Tigger! She was so excited - she's the 2 year old. She loved the turtles too. Each time she saw one she said "Another one" and tapped the computer screen...maybe more than I wanted her to.... I asked Laycee to tell me what to write to you. She said "Me love her", "Me love Tigger", "Me love turtles too", "Thank you Tigger's bed" and "Me liked looking at pictures." Pretty much a run-on sentence! Thank you so much for this entire page. I've forwarded the link to all three of my daughters and asked Ami to share this with Lyndee tonight. You are so very thoughtful - and the girls and I really appreciated it! Have a wonderful day!
