Colour

This notebook sits beside me today ... a superb range of colours in one small space.
Then, you look up and notice that the sky beyond the garden has also burst into shades of pink and blue!
Fantastic.  It lasted only for a few minutes but, with the camera seldom more than a few inches from my fingers, I managed to catch a couple of shots before it faded into dusk and then darkness.  While it was there ... it was magnificent.
When I was fifteen I had the opportunity to go on a trip to London where I read (and copied into a notebook) this quotation from Winston Churchill:
When I get to heaven I mean to spend a considerable portion of my first million years in painting, and so get to the bottom of the subject. But then I shall require a still gayer palette than I get here below. I expect orange and vermilion will be the darkest, dullest colours upon it, and beyond them there will be a whole range of wonderful new colours which will delight the celestial eye.
In contrast to all the beautiful colours ... Eliot chooses his dullest toy to push forward for a game.  Not only is it dull ... it is also very soggy!  I don't share his enthusiasm for it though will occasionally gingerly grasp an ear or a leg and give a half-hearted tug, just to satisfy his desire to play.
Angel appears to share my revulsion!  She's not an enthusiastic toy puller ... she's more of a "walk around with a toy in your mouth" kind of dog!
Don't we live in a wonderful world ... full of colour and things to delight!

some sunrises/sunsets remind me of those blocks of Neapolitan ice cream that were a luxury in the olden days...

I missed a wonderful sunny picture of Bignian yesterday and a spectacular sunset because, unlike you, my camera was not at my fingertips! It really should have been.
