2010:365:300 Preparation continues ...

 Getting ready for the united choir practice tonight involved putting together a booklet with all the hymns and psalm for Sunday's service in the correct running order.
 The fact that all the tables are set out in the minor hall for a Stamp Fair on Saturday meant that it was easy to collate all forty copies and get them stapled and folded without any bother.  We are so fortunate to have such magnificent halls.  This is the room we used last year for our worship services and which the local Methodist Church will be using over the next year or so.  They're doing a complete rebuild of their premises from street level.  It's a creative design and will cater for all sorts of needs both of the church and also from the community.
The Coffee Club was a convenient place for a very tasty and healthy lunch before the afternoon service of Holy Communion and then visiting in a couple of hospitals.
Finally, the last few hours (three and a half) were spent back in church at choir practice!  It is so good to have a united choir from a number of local churches and with a few friends who have joined for the broadcast as well.  The sound from the filled choir stalls was magnificent and to have an oboe and violin added yet a further wonderful dimension to the praise.
We're excited about Sunday now.  The service has come together well and the music fits the liturgy perfectly.  It's hard to imagine just how many people will join us in worship either live or through the iplayer... our prayer is that all will experience God's touch in their lives.

O Lord our God, accept the fervent prayers of your people;
in the multitude of your mercies look with compassion
upon us and all who turn to you for help;
for you are gracious, O lover of souls,
and to you we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
now and for ever.  Amen.
