2010:365:299 Preparation.

Who'd have imagined just how much work there is to do as you prepare for a live radio broadcast?  Apart from organising who is reading which part of the service there's the music to identify and copy, a sermon to write and submit ahead of time, meetings with a sound engineer, and too many other things to begin to list!  It is fun, and a challenge.  It is a privilege, and a frightening prospect too!
Some readers who don't have access to the Book of Common Prayer (2004) (BCP) may wish to follow the service on Sunday morning.  The link above will take you to a pdf where the entire liturgy may be seen and it will make so much more sense of the worship if you have this available.  The Celebration of Wholeness and Healing begins on page 458 of the BCP if you're using the book.
Anyone who lives close enough to Saint Nicholas' on the Lisburn Road in Belfast is very welcome to join us on Sunday morning.  We hope that most folk will be in the building by 7.45 am so that the service can begin without interruption at 8.10 am when it will be broadcast live on Radio 4.
There is a part of the liturgy where you are invited to pray specifically for yourself and for those whom you know who have particular needs.  At that point there'll be some instrumental music to provide space for private prayers - the piece we've selected is from the TaizĂ© community.

O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord, hear my prayer:
when I call, answer me ....

Church Hymnal number 620
