Saint Nicholas

A man noted for his love died on 6th December 343. Stories abound of his care for the vulnerable and needy; icons reflect his compassion and holiness.
Saint Nicholas, beloved of mariners and children, is the giver of gifts and the patron saint of generosity.
His origin is southern Turkey, from a wealthy background. Both parents died while he was young and Nicholas gave away his entire fortune since Jesus says, "sell what you own and give the money to the poor."
What is the challenge to us today as we try to live out the teachings of Jesus?
Thoughts to be continued.....

I read the story of Papa Panov at the family service this morning; thinking it would be a good way to get people to think about where they would see Jesus. Only one person had heard it before - and he was a baptist!
