Meanwhile I'm thinking of a very sad family where the young Mum has just died today ... a difficult time but one where the words of Psalm 23 bring so much comfort.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
May the comfort and peace of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with all the bereaved today and in the days ahead.
Words of Saint Columba that I've used before.
Alone with none but thee, my God
I journey on my way.
What need I fear, when thou art near
O king of night and day!
More safe am I within thy hand
than if a host didst round me stand.
