Around the church ... and other places!

Saturday now sees me around Saint Nicholas' for a couple of hours ... we open for tea and coffee for anyone who cares to call.
Today we were busy with a steady stream of folk calling in.
Over the weeks we've changed the layout ... taking on board some of the things that were said to us ... and now the cosy corner looks warm and inviting when you enter the building.  It always helps when it is a sunny day ... and today, although very cold, was beautiful.
Nearly everyone who came today was in the building for the first time and were amazed at how big it is on the inside!
The dog had his walk earlier in the day so was happy enough to stay at home ... at least ... as far as I know he was happy!
It doesn't matter how far he walks ... Eliot likes to check out the garden when he comes home.  If it is sunny he is then content just to sit and look around.
Maybe I ought to do something with the dead iris leaves ... though they add texture to the picture!
The prayer from today's reflection ...

God, our light and our salvation:
illuminate our lives,
that we may see your goodness in the land of the living,
and looking on your beauty
may be changed into the likeness of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Rev Elizabeth, I found your page after looking for information on St. Columba and have been reading about you and your dog,Eliot. I thought I would let you know that Eliot has a twin in Scottsboro, Alabama in the U.S. His name is Moby and he belongs to my sister. He, too, is an extremely smart dog. In fact, sometimes I believe he thinks he is human! I especially enjoyed the pictures of him running in on the beach and in the water. Moby lives by a lake and he loves to run and play in the water too. I have put your blogpage in my "favorites" and will continue to read about yours and Eliot life. My regards, Margie
