Monday.

How's that for an interesting title?!!
It might have been "a cold and frosty morning" as the alternative ... here the frost has begun to melt on the sage bush.  The temperature was minus one degree Celsius this morning ... and once again everywhere was white and cold!
The sky, for a second day, was clear blue.  Beautiful.
The shrubs are confused.  A few days ago I noticed flowers on a rhododendron ... and now this other spring flowering bush has a few wide open blossoms.  They're gorgeous ... but certainly out of season.
Meanwhile Eliot has begun to dig a large hole in the back grass.  It isn't great when he gets back into the house with at least one muddy paw and a nose that is covered with soil.  Someone tonight suggested that he's a "Sprollie" ... the cross between Springer and Collie!  I rather like the idea that I have this unique breed of Sprollie!
The ears are certainly the Springer bit ... and droop nicely into the hole that he's contemplating.

Lord of the Church, we pray for our renewing:
Christ over all, our undivided aim.
Fire of the Spirit, burn for our enduing,
wind of the Spirit, fan the living flame!
We turn to Christ amid our fear and failing,
the will that lacks the courage to be free,
the weary labours, all but unavailing,
to bring us nearer what a Church should be.

Church Hymnal
Timothy Dudley-Smith (b 1926)

Love the Sprollie title - suits him!
