Rule breaking...

Normally I'm a law-abiding sort of person.  If it says 30mph then I'll probably travel at 30mph.  If the sign reads "Don't walk on the grass" then the chances are that you'll find me on the path.
Back in the days of the "Box Brownie" the instructions were very clear.  Never point your camera into the sun.  So began years of the poor photographic subjects having to face the blinding light while the photographer cast a long shadow that sometimes managed to show up in the picture!
The 365Project challenge this week is "lens flare".  To do that you have to break the rules!  So, early this morning when out with Eliot in the frozen air I did just that!  His breath hung in great clouds at times as the moisture condensed in the sub zero temperatures.
 For once it seemed that Eliot posed for the camera ... though maybe he was just surveying the territory and preparing to run ...
It was fun to experiment with the light, though I suspect that the dog enjoyed rather more the additional time to play!
Maybe it is okay to break some rules ...

God, the king of righteousness,
lead us, we pray, in the ways of justice and peace;
inspire us to break down all tyranny and oppression,
to gain for everyone their due reward,
and from everyone their due service;
that each may live for all, and all may care for each,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Archbishop William Temple (1881-1944)
