338 In a negative mood ...

Eliot does not like to see the camera pointing in his direction!  His strategies are interesting ... 1) turn your back to it; 2) wriggle fast so that the image is blurred; 3) get out of the room and hide in a dark corner ... He is not often tricked into having a photograph taken.
He doesn't care that forty five of the fifty shots are blurred and unusable ... his triumph is in not having been caught by his photo-mad owner!
 It all began in the late afternoon when, having FORGOTTEN to take pictures in church today of Bishop Jeremiah and Ronnie Briggs, I thought about the 365Project and remembered that Eliot hasn't had an appearance for a while.
 He was comfortably curled up in "his" chair looking cute and adorable.  Then I pointed the camera at him and he very pointedly turned to look out of the window.  Producing his brush did result in him turning round but it was difficult to brush with one hand and take pictures with the other ... every time he spotted the offending instrument he refused to look.
 My cunning plan of hiding treats in his bone misfired too.  So this was the best of a dozen shots where he moved at just the wrong time.
 For one moment he decided that he'd pose (or at least sit still) ... but just for a very brief photo-shoot.  And then he headed off to the hall where it is dark!
 Perhaps another day ... meanwhile the bone hangs alone under Eliot's name waiting for Santa Claus.
 I gave up taking pictures and lit the fire instead.  With both central heating AND the fire I managed to raise the room temperature to almost twenty degrees Celsius.  It is bitterly cold this evening and even after eight hours of heat I'm still wearing a coat!  The forecast isn't giving a lot of hope for higher temperatures in the near future.
Finally ... another picture from the Christmas tree ... this time it's the Christmas duck!  I assume you remember the part of the story where the duck plays a significant role ... to celebrate that there are THREE yellows ducks on my tree!  Sometimes I ask myself "why"?  At other times I simply say, "why not"?  I'm sure if there had been ducks that night in Bethlehem they'd have squashed in with everything and everyone else!  I think it's fun to have ducks on the tree ... and it is a talking point, if nothing else!

Father in heaven,
who sent your Son to redeem the world
and will send him again to be our judge:
Give us grace so to imitate him
in the humility and purity of his first coming
that when he comes again,
we may be ready to greet him with joyful love and firm faith;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
