2010:365:251 Bedtime!

Goodnight world ... right out of inspiration this evening and sleepy as well!  No chance of a sensible thought at this stage.
Most homes and offices are likely to have one or more versions of today's photograph.  The humble stapler began life (apparently) in the court of Louis XV in the 1700s.  Legend has it that the individual staples were gold covered and had the royal insignia.
The modern design is much later and comes from just over one hundred years ago.
It is another useful piece of technology - I think.

Blessed are you, Sovereign God,
our light and our salvation,
to you be glory and praise for ever.
In the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
To dispel the darkness of our night,
you sent forth your Son, the first-born of all creation.
He is our Christ, the light of the world,
and him we acclaim, as all creation sings to you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
Blessed be God for ever!
