A small slice of a very moist and tasty coffee cake rounded off today's lunch. The little pile of blueberries made it appear to be even more healthy.
The picture of the uncut cake didn't have much to commend it as a photographic masterpiece.
A cake is a cake I suppose. If my sister had made it (and not the Co-op) the walnuts would have been placed much more evenly and not just thrown from afar1 But in a supermarket you take what's in the package.
Getting the spoon and fork silhouettes took a lot more drinking chocolate than I'd intended. Next time I'd mask the side of the plate too. This was a technique that my nephew demonstrated using icing sugar on a dark plate. I like the effect.
However, I was shooting outside in the breezy garden so the sharper edges became fairly quickly blurred. And since I've been quite busy today there wasn't time to redo the dusting. Now, what will tomorrow's coffee theme be?!
Heavenly Father,
in whom we live and move and have our being:
We humbly pray that your Holy Spirit may so guide and govern us
that in all the cares and occupations of our daily life,
we may never forget your presence
but may remember that we are always walking in your sight,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Book of Common Prayer
Morning Collect.

Very nice photos - well posed.
That cake looks good even if it is from the co-op.
I too will have to have a go at the dusting technique.
I can almost taste the coffee & cake together - hmmmmmm!
Just love your photo of Eliot - he's gorgeous :D
