2010:365:181 Summer ...

These English strawberries are at their best now.  The Irish ones are just beginning to appear in some shops.  Summer in a dish!  And on a sunny day, just before I head out to my second service of the day, what could be a more tasty lunch?
In 1740 the first cultivated strawberries appeared in Brittany (France) but now they are produced worldwide.  By far the largest quantity are grown in US but all over the world this wonderful fruit is grown.
Time would fail me if I were to list all the benefits, the minerals and vitamins, the uses... strawberries are quite simply one of the best fruits around!

Help us to share in Christ's ministry
of love and service to one another,
through the same Jesus Christ our Lord,
who in the unity of the Holy Spirit
is one with you for ever.  Amen.
