2010:365:156 Late night... late breakfast....

Can you think of a better way to start the day than by enjoying a luxury breakfast - thank you sister for the delicious Scottish smoked salmon!
Would you believe that just a few hours later was lunch time when crab and salmon cakes were on the menu at Monzu?!!
The bowl of salad is to make it appear that it was a very healthy lunch... actually, I suppose it was really and certainly very tasty.
The day getting off to such a slow start is a direct result of last night's fun.  And it was great fun.  People of all ages had a thoroughly good time with children dancing alongside the adults and those who didn't want to dance happy to sit at the tables and relax.
There wasn't much opportunity for conversation once The Stramones began.  They're great... and loud!
Thanks to the generosity of a number of folk there was more than enough to eat and drink.
Gary and Patricia had put a huge amount of work into making sure that the evening would be a success.
The Stramones arrived early to set up under the Kenyan flag that Patricia had made.  We've carefully preserved it for use on any future occasions.
If this Mobile Clinic is to function then the fund will need to be topped up on a regular basis.  "Health for All" is such a simple idea that changes the lives of a large number of people. All it needs is money - abut £100 per day.  The total from last night will be added to this just as soon as it is available.  Many people used the Gift Aid envelopes so that will increased the value of each donation by a significant amount.
It was still quite bright at 9.00 pm when the band began but gradually as the evening became darker the atmosphere developed and folk started to dance.
The band have a great range of interesting lights as well as a lot of talent.
It would be lovely to do this kind of thing on a regular basis...
A safe place that teens could go (as well as adults) simply to have a night's fun.
Half way through to give the band a bit of a break one of our teenagers and her friend sang a few numbers.  "Dad" is the guitarist - and was she good?  Absolutely magnificent.
The two girls were also excellent and the entire audience was enthusiastic and gave them a great reception.
So that was it... a night of great fun, loud music, and hopefully generous donations!
Certainly a night to remember!

Looks like great fun and that a wonderful time was had by all!

Your smoked salmon looked fabulous, but I was struck by the picture of your lunch. It looked *identical* to my lunch when Linda's parents visited us in town. I had crab cakes with a salad on the side and a cup of rhubarb chutney. What fun to know we can live so far apart and share such a similar meal!
