365Project has thrown up a new theme this week - shadows! Armed with the camera I opened up Saint Nicholas' as usual on Monday lunchtime and began to look round for shadows. Although the light was pouring in through the stained glass and created interesting patterns but they didn't show up well in photographs.
There are a couple of large and ancient radiators at the front of the nave. With a number of spotlights the shadow underneath is an interesting wavy zigzag and the top photograph became today's submission.
Having the camera in church was a golden opportunity to take a few photographs of the red covers that were used for Pentecost. The brocade is so rich and soft and I love it; but next week is white and then we're in green until Advent! How quickly a year goes past.
We've already had some folk from Kajiado visit us in Belfast so it is good now for this family from Saint Nicholas' to have the opportunity to be with the church in Kenya.
O Lord, from whom all good things come:
Grant to us your humble servants,
that, by your holy inspiration
we may think those things that be good,
and by your merciful guiding may perform the same;
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hi Elizabeth - good to find your blog. You post lots of nice pictures - inspires me to take a camera around with me more often! Also I like the prayers, verses from hymns and scripture that you put at the end of your posts. Thanks for visiting my blog, too!
Hi Karen.... rarely see me without a camera! The prayers etc. were a new idea this year... sort of rounds off the thought.
love the red covers Elizabeth - the church must have looked absolutely magnificent :)
The photos of the inside of your church are just wonderful Elizabeth.
The one with the radiator looks cold with the concrete under it.
It's amazing what 100 pounds will buy - what a worthwhile project for Kenya.
I love all the comments folks... thanks.
