2010:365:104 A wee ramble.

There are a few minutes before I head out to meet someone so it seems to be good use of time to let the fingers do the talking.  News programmes are off.  Listening to election chatter can be really irritating.  Some I will watch but tonight I need a bit of head space.
Instead of beginning this post with another picture of 'yours truly' I thought it might be interesting to have a photograph of my cross.  It is only about four centimetres tall, silver, and given to me by by training rector and his wife.
That was a very happy time and there are many fond memories of the three and a bit years there.
I was thinking of that today as I stood outside my office just off the Lisburn Road - the flowering shrubs are in full bloom and, with camera perched on top of the car, I allowed a few pictures!
It was much more fun to take pictures of the cherry tree and forsythia.  Maybe one or two here for you to enjoy as well...but there were so many angles that you'd be exhausted just looking at them!
Such pretty blossom and against the blue of today's sky it looks particularly good.
I was interested to see that one of our hospitals has a double row of cherry trees as you move towards the main entrance.  Maybe I've never had to visit there in the spring time before... you certainly don't notice the trees at any other time other than Christmas when they're lit up with delicate fairy lights.
There's a great "Food Van" along the A1 dual carriageway and that's where I had a very late lunch.  So now I'm not ready for any tea!
The banks behind the van are being landscaped with the mature trees providing a pleasing backdrop.
It was rather a good place to stop and enjoy excellent food as well as beautiful trees.
All the time the sun was shining although temperatures haven't risen to any great height yet.  Just 11 decrees Celsius this afternoon.  Hotter in the car!  Considerably hotter in the car!
So, back home.  And contemplating some ironing.
Lay-Zee encouraged me to think twice and I'm on the umpteenth version of second thinking.  Indeed he's still hogging the ironing board but has now engaged in discussion with Lay-About.
It is entirely down to their influence that tomorrow's shirt is still hanging over the back of a chair - there are however, no dog treats in the pocket!  Just in case!

Merciful God,
you have prepared for those who love you
such good things as pass our understanding:
Pour into our hearts such love toward you
that we, loving you above all things,
may obtain your promises,
which exceed all that we can desire;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Elizabeth, I have been away for the best part of a week. I just love your photos. The blooms are so pretty and very artistically taken.
Did you finally get your ironing done? :D
