2010:365:44 Multi-tasking

When the weather-watching wee guy looks like this you know that we're in a spell of fine weather.  His "shell" changes with humidity and can be anything from pink through purple to this dark blue.  He's just one of a few hundred turtles that adorn (litter) the rectory.  Someday I plan to take photographs of all of them ... not today!
Right now I'm following the rugby match between Ireland and France.  Not good for one's blood pressure at the moment but we're a long way from the end, so anything could happen.   The score is 17 - 3 as I watch so typing this blog is very slow!
Back to the turtles.
Earlier today the little fellows sitting on the windowsill caught my attention so today's 365Project photograph was of one of them.  There were a few dice lying around and they provided a random background.  Of course I played with different groupings and even had a look through the magnifying glass ... It would be fun to do some more carefully arranged photographs with that.
Of all the faces on the five dice - why did I not notice that this one has a mark on it?  The macro lens certainly highlights any imperfections!  Looking at ourselves it is easy enough to see all the "bad bits" which is why we need to keep our focus on Jesus - the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.

Our processional hymn in Saint Nicholas' tomorrow is a reflection on God's majesty:  My God, how wonderful thou art ....

How wonderful, how beautiful,
the sight of thee must be,
thine endless wisdom, boundless power,
and aweful purity.

Yet I may love thee too, O Lord,
almighty as thou art,
for thou hast stooped to ask of me
the love of my poor heart.
