... would anyone try to fry an egg over a candle flame?
I suppose ... because you can!

And this is the evidence ... even if it did take twenty minutes to cook it.  Perhaps a minute or two less the next time ... if there is a next time!
At least it meant that other things could be done while the egg was cooking ...
