Washing that had been put on the line a couple of days ago is frozen solid - it feels as if the shirts have a life of their own as they hang woodenly from the frozen wires.
So, back indoors and today's photo of the day was taken ... the weekly collection of earrings sitting on the laptop. Stained glass, Venetian glass, turtles (of course) and blue enamel ones from Donegal ... all now removed and taken to their normal storage upstairs ... but I fear that the new week has begun and a fresh pair of turtles are on the little shelf already!
This system, apart from being evidence of laziness, ensures that I don't wear the same pair on two consecutive days - or even twice in the same week!
Yesterday, from a moving car, I took a quick picture of the "train" on Tate's Avenue. Today I was on my way to do a hospital visit and decided to stop for a moment to do a proper picture.
There are two of them, one either side of the road.
Mind you ... unless you stand well out into the road it is difficult to get a good angle ... and Saturday mid-morning probably isn't the best time to be in that particular location.
I'd love to make something like this - big and dramatic!
The remainder of today has passed faster than a speeding train ... and yet it seems that very little has been achieved. Some days are like that. Lots of wee bits to do and suddenly it is evening.
I wonder how times feels for Eliot ... he can spend most of the day asleep ... and then sleep all night as well. Of course, given the least signal from me and he's at the door and ready for a walk as if sleep were the last thing on his mind.
We're still in the week of prayer for Christian unity ... so tomorrow evening there's a united service with almost all the BT9 churches gathering in Saint Brigid's. More about that afterwards, maybe.Almighty God,
from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed:
Kindle, we pray, in every heart the true love of peace;
and guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom
those who take counsel for the nations of the earth,
that in tranquillity your kingdom may go forward,
till the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Book of Common Prayer
Peace.
