Prayer.

Sometimes all you can do is pray ... a person is ill, a baby becomes very sick, a little boy has a dreadful asthma attack, a US police officer is shot during a routine traffic stop ... the list could go on and on ... and while medical staff deal with the emergencies ... those of us around the circle can pray.
The Church of Ireland has a lovely service in the prayer book: "A Celebration of Wholeness and Healing" and often it is to those words that I turn when faced with particular needs.

The Almighty God
who is a strong tower for all who put their trust in him,
whom all things in heaven, on earth and under the earth obey,
be now and evermore your defence.
May you believe and trust that the only name under heaven
given for health and salvation
is the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.
