Peace

Another blog to be done in two parts or else I'll miss the midnight deadline!  Photographs are upstairs and I'm downstairs watching "Law and Order" ...
The photo-shoot was earlier this morning when the little doves hanging from the mantelpiece caught my eye.
It was the beginning of the big pre-Christmas clear up.  The front room was finally ready for guests ... though no doubt there are a few dog hairs already there.
A fresh supply of cards arrived so it was good to get them pegged up as well.
Then I headed off to one of the prettiest of Belfast's cemeteries - and one of the coldest!  From the top of the hill ... and it was the very top of the hill at Dundonald ... you can see all over the city.  A beautiful day with clear sky.  The warm woollen clerical cloaks come into their own on a day like this!
Christmas fast approaches ... and in it all ... the busyness and the preparation ... there is that eternal message of peace.  Peace that cannot be disturbed by anything that happens around us or to us.

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
