2010:365:62 J is for Jam Junkie

He's a handy dog.  Yoghurt pots, jam jars, disposable pie dishes .... Eliot will happily and enthusiastically clean them up.  His long tongue isn't quite long enough to reach to the bottom of the jar - but he has a good try.  Turning it this way and that he does his best to leave no trace of the rather good blackcurrant jam that once filled this container.
One photograph of his antics isn't sufficient.
And even two pictures barely capture the concentration of this somewhat pampered pet.
He provides so much innocent entertainment - and sometimes he appears to be aware that the clown his is does make people laugh!
His welcome when I return home is always genuine pleasure and inevitably there's a toy or a towel held out so that he can have some fun.  After a few rounds of the coffee table I'm ready for a rest but he could go on and on.  I love taking photographs of him so consider it rather restrained that this post contains only three .... well .... maybe I'll allow myself a fourth .... I'm sure that you'll enjoy them as much as I (or you'd be too polite to say otherwise - wouldn't you?).

Sleep tight my reader - if you exist... Don't forget ... it is possible to leave a note to say you've been reading the ramblings of a rector in Belfast .... !

Lord, you have taught us
that all our doings without love are nothing worth:
Send your Holy Spirit
and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love,
the true bond of peace and of all virtues,
without which whoever lives is counted dead before you.
Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

Love the last picture. My cat does this with yoghurt but not jam - and his tongue isn't as long as Eliots

That's so funny! And, one of my FAVORITE jam flavors! If I let my dog do this...he'd be bouncing off the walls for days from all the sugar! :D
