2010:365:33 The best china...

There are times when you want a little pampering.  What better way to begin a day  than to use the best china at breakfast for a boiled egg and soldiers?  Ordinary food made special through the presentation.
This idea must go right back to childhood when, to tempt the appetite of a sick child, food and drink were served in the most beautiful and the most delicate plates and glasses.  Vessels that were not normally used except on very special occasions were deemed appropriate for the recovering patient.
That says a lot about the attitude our parents had to their three girls.  Only the best was good enough.
It makes you think about other things too.  Only the best is good enough when it comes to worship and to the dedication of our lives to God.  It makes you think....

Lord our God,
grant us grace to desire you with our whole heart;
that so desiring, we may seek and find you;
and so finding, may love you;
and so loving, may hate those sins
from which you have delivered us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
