New Year - A photographic record....

Is it possible to blog every day? What about taking at least one photograph every day?
That's the challenge for 2010!
So we'll begin gently...nothing too ambitious....
Eliot is eight years old today - wow! I suspect that he's quite unaware of this as he contentedly nosed his way round the frosty garden. His birthday treat will come later. For me, the day begins gently: just a mug of coffee while surveying a frozen, but sunny, world, enjoying the pink of the King's Hall as it glows warmly behind the privit. The house is beginning to warm up. All is well.
A New Year with all the challenges and potential lies ahead. Last night in church we read again the beginning of John's gospel and thought about the Light of Christ coming into the world....and continuing to come into the world through the people of God today. That's our prayer: that Saint Nicholas' will be a beacon of hope showing Christ to the part of the city where we are.
May the Light of Christ shine brightly in our lives today.

Almighty God,
in the birth of your Son
you have poured upon us the new light of your incarnate Word,
and shown us the fullness of your love:
Help us to walk in this light and dwell in his love
that we may know the fullness of his joy;
who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
