We're getting near to the end of the alphabet and ignoring watches, words and waffles I opted for a pretty glass of wine! A wee turtle got in in the act - his red nose reflected the ruby sparkle very nicely.
As you'd expect there were a number of pictures taken. Light behind the glass brings out the deep red.
Looking down on the top provided another perspective.....and some interesting reflections.It reminded me of half a case of bottles that have been relegated to the back of the cellar. It was an impulse buy - judging the wine (literally) by the label! I bought it when living in a rectory which was on top of a hill, a hill fort in ancient times.
Last time I tried it the only good thing was the name! Perhaps with the passage of time, and change of rectory, it might have developed a warm maturity? If not... there's a lot of cooking wine here!It's a pity... but the moral of the story is clear...
NEVER JUDGE A WINE BY ITS LABEL!
Give us deeper reverence for the truth,
and such wisdom in the use of knowledge
that your kingdom may be advanced
and your name glorified;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
